AI For Boards

Not a seminar. Not a vendor pitch. A discussion-led session built around the AI decisions your board will face โ€” and the questions you need to ask when they arrive.

Why Attend

Unlocking the Power
of Artificial Intelligence

At the end of the programme, participants will be able to:

  • โ€บ Tell a serious AI proposal from a well-packaged one
  • โ€บ Interrogate a vendor pitch without a technologist in the room
  • โ€บ Name the laws already engaged by a system your company runs today
  • โ€บ Place the human control point where it actually controls something
  • โ€บ Require a quarterly report that can carry bad news
  • โ€บ Write the conditions you would attach to an approval into a board minute
What This Programme Does Differently
  • โ€บ Governance-first, not technology-first
  • โ€บ Built around real board decisions, not a lecture
  • โ€บ Grounded in Indian law and Indian cases
  • โ€บ Balances oversight with practical, usable judgement
  • โ€บ Three worked group exercises generating real artefacts โ€” just not a slide deck

Leave with a toolkit. Not notes.

Eight working artefacts you take home:

  • The Board’s AI Question Bank

01

  • Red Flags in an AI Business Case

02

  • The Vendor Assurance Checklist

03

  • The AI Governance Charter

04

  • The Quarterly AI Board Pack

05

  • Data Classification Card

06

  • AI Use Case Scoring Sheet

07

  • Director’s Glossary

08

What Four Hours
Actually Covers.

01

What AI Actually Is

  • There is nothing intelligent about AI โ€” a reframe that lowers the intimidation and raises the scepticism. Why it predicts rather than calculates, the four flavours (predictive, generative, computer vision, agentic), and what it’s honestly good and bad at.ย

02

Why AI Creates a Governance Gap

  • The three assumptions inside every control your board already has โ€” and why AI quietly breaks all three. Real failures, Indian and international, and why none of them was a technology failure.ย

03

Evaluating an AI Proposal

  • The five things every AI business case must answer. Data, total cost of ownership, build-buy-partner, and the vendor lock-in nobody flags. Includes a live group exercise: The Proposal Test.ย

04

The Indian Legal Stack

  • Three legal layers already binding every company in the room, none written for AI โ€” DPDP, the IT Act, and what your sector regulator is drafting. Includes a live group exercise: Which Laws Apply?ย

05

Building the Governance Framework

  • The seven-step method, from asset inventory to redress. Auditing a vendor, classifying your data, and the guardrails to write down before the next proposal lands. Includes a live group exercise: Governing What You Already Have.ย

06

Building the AI Roadmap

  • How management should find, score and sequence AI initiatives โ€” and what the board must not do. What to see every quarter, and a 30/60/180-day plan with a clear question at each gate.ย

Built for people who'll
decide about AI โ€” not
build it.

  • โ€บ Independent and non-executive directors
  • โ€บ Board chairs and chairs of Audit, Risk, NRC and CSR committees
  • โ€บ CEOs, CFOs, COOs, CHROs, General Counsel and Company Secretaries
  • โ€บ Promoters and family business leaders
  • โ€บ Senior executives preparing for board roles

No technical background is required. You will not write code. You'll need a laptop and access to any AI tool โ€” ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or similar.

Things people ask before registering.

Not at all. This programme is built for directors and senior leaders, not technologists. No coding. No jargon. Just the questions you need to ask when an AI proposal reaches the board.ย

No. This is a working session grounded in Indian law โ€” DPDP, the IT Act, and sector-specific rules โ€” but it’s built around decisions, not a checklist.ย

That’s the intent. Every exercise is built around a real proposal, a real vendor pitch, or a real governance gap. You leave with a toolkit, not notes.ย

Yes. The programme is designed for listed and unlisted companies alike, including promoter-led and family businesses.ย

The full four-hour session, all course material, and refreshments. No upsells in the room.
